Moments like the ones we experienced in December and January with our students. This season was very exciting. December surprised us with its good vibes, eagerness to learn, changes in weather, and currents that brought us perfect moments to enjoy great waves in different places. Every year is undoubtedly different.
On December 13th, with Ella and Kira, our two students from the Netherlands, we had the opportunity to visit The Jungle Clan, a sustainable project that allowed us to immerse ourselves in a unique ecological environment. In this place, we had the chance to explore a wide variety of crops and plants that are grown in an environmentally respectful way, using eco-friendly agricultural practices. We also discovered pest control techniques without resorting to chemicals, reinforcing the farm’s commitment to sustainability.
During our visit, we tasted a selection of products made on the farm, including exquisite types of kombucha, various chili sauces, artisanal jams, tea, and a surprising range of cocoa-based combinations. We also had the chance to try their homemade alcohol made from local fruits, which further enriched our sensory experience.
The Jungle Clan farm not only offers fresh and natural products, but also has a store where you can buy these delicious products directly from the area. Additionally, Jungle Clan offers an innovative culinary proposal, inviting visitors to enjoy signature dishes and drinks made from fresh, local ingredients sourced directly from their own production. Without a doubt, an experience that combines sustainability, the authentic taste of the region, and culinary innovation. In January, we had the opportunity to attend a performance by our surf and Spanish student, Kansinne, who showed her talent and placed second for her creativity and performance.
This event was organized by the cultural space “LaChiwana,” and it took place during the closing of the exhibit “Sonidos del Tiempo: Música en la Ancestralidad” by @darwinruizruiz, a tribute to the roots, sounds, and stories that connect us with the deepest part of our cultural identity. The synergy between live drawing and the rich thematic content of the exhibit created a unique atmosphere full of inspiration and meaning.
Each stroke and every participation not only enriched the activity but also reaffirmed the importance of creating spaces that promote creativity and strengthen cultural bonds within our community.
