Spanish Classes

Study Spanish with local instructors amidst a stunning tropical setting, and then try out your new skills to order dinner in town! When you take Spanish lessons in a culture where it’s the native tongue, your development will be exponentially greater than just studying on your own or with an app.

Our 3 level system offers beginners a great base to start off, while our intermediate and advanced spanish classes will walk you through a licensed program whose graduates achieve full fluency.

Lodging

When your brain is mush from Spanish classes, and your body is totally spent from surfing, the best remedy is a siesta followed by a fiesta!

We provide accomodations ranging from private rooms to shared dorms. After a day (and possibly a night) of fun, retire to your cama for some well-earned R & R.

“So I don’t usually write reviews, but I will make an exception for this great Spanish school in Olon. I spend 4 weeks there learning Spanish and surfing at the same time and couldn’t be happier about my time there. All the people working at outdoor Ecuador are absolutely lovely and helpful in all regards and made this time truly special. You can personalize the lessons according to your needs, the school itself looks really cool and has a nice and relaxed chill area to hang out before or in between the lessons, they usually have fruits there and always a great atmosphere. Furthermore they’ll help you with all your surfing needs, which I can just recommend trying while in olon.
I very much enjoyed the quiet and relaxed vibe of olon but for the people who want more action, Montañita is just a short bus or taxi ride (~1,50$) from olon and offers partys pretty much all week long.
So all in all can just recommend this place, if you want to learn Spanish and or surfing!”

“My girlfriend and I spend two weeks at this amazing place surfing and learning Spanish with the most kind & professional teachers that made school more fun than it has ever been!
The whole staff made an effort that was way beyond the expected. They helped us with accommodation, advise and planning for weekend trips, renting of surf gear, motorcycles, etc.
So if you’re looking for a chilled and social environment to pick up or practice your Spanish and surf, we would highly recommend you Outdoor Ecuador!
Also, Olón is a really nice little sleepy town with a relaxed local atmosphere just perfect for a longtime stay.”

"Amazing Experience"

“My family of four (two kids aged 10 & 13) had an amazing experience learning Spanish at Outdoor Ecuador. We were all at different levels but they worked with each of us to make sure we all progressed at our own speed. Not only did they teach us Spanish but about the local community and unique customs. Luis even worked with us to pick up our kids while we were working which made me feel so comfortable knowing who was driving my kids. He took them on field trips to practice and learn Spanish which really made it an Outdoor school. My daughter took 4 weeks of surfing and progressed so much. I loved the coordinated beach and dinner events as well. We really felt part of the Olon community in the 5 weeks we spent there and Outdoor Ecuador is a big reason why. catered to your needs and you have the ability to catch some waves at the beach a two minute walk from the school before/after class. I stayed for two weeks and they helped me with all of my housing. First, OE helped me match with an incredible host family.

“Ivonne was quick and informative in her response from my original inquiry. Leo, from Outdoor Ecuador set me up in a room at Ocean Blue Lodge. A wonderful stay. The host Isabelle was very accommodating. I had 2 surf lessons from David. Who spoke excellent English, a competent surfer and superb instructor. Leo went out of his way to find me a paddle board which are few and far between in these parts.
My Spanish teacher, Nadine was exceptional. She is articulate, enthusiastic with a great sense of humor and made each day at Spanish class an inspiring experience.”
